As written in the video description by SPORT ONLINE: Amanda Staveley still interested in buying Newcastle but PCP Capital Partners eyeing other clubs. Amanda Staveley insists her UAE-based firm PCP Capital Partners remain interested in buying a Premier League club – including Newcastle.

Staveley and her company held protracted talks with Magpies owner Mike Ashley in 2017 but a deal did not materialise, despite an offer in excess of £300m being made at the time.

Staveley insists he she has no issues with Ashley and heaped praise on the Tyneside club’s fans – but she says they are not the only Premier League club on their radar.

“We are big fans of Newcastle, big fans of the team,” she told UAE paper the National. “We have no issue with Mr Ashley, that is water under the bridge. It’s still an interesting club to us, the fans are fantastic, but we are looking at a lot of clubs.

“I’m a total tomboy, I’m a football fan, I enjoy it very much. We are sensible people who invest other people’s money. We would also put our own capital in – of course we would. But with financial fair play rules, all football clubs have to be financially stable.”

Staveley also heaped praise on the model of UAE-owned Manchester City and said PCP would look to invest in the local area of whichever club they obtained in a similar way to the Abu Dhabi United Group.

“I am hugely proud of Man City,” she said. “We are not looking at creating another Man City in terms of the huge levels of investment they’ve had on players.

“But what I love about Man City is how they have invested so well in Manchester, in the area. That’s really important, and the sort of thing we would want to do elsewhere.” Predict 6 correct scores for your chance to win £250K.
