I decided to use a neutral color palette for this video to match my home decor. This also makes it easier to transition the terrarium from season to season because you can just swap out the fall stems for another type of stem or flower.
Use any color combo of sand that you would like. I think using different textures of sand makes the layering more visually appealing. For this video the white sand from West Elm was a bigger grain, the tan sand from Lowes was a medium grain, and the cream sand from Michaels was a smaller smooth grain. I also threw in the glass vase filler to add some shine and additional texture throughout the layers.
Take your time and work in sections to keep things neat. Work on each layer one by one, adding soil in the middle of the circle to build up the base.
Place your plants any way that you would like. I knew my terrarium was going to be sitting in front of a wall or another plant so I kept my smaller plants towards the front and my taller plants towards the back. If you plan on displaying your terrarium on a surface that is visible from all angles, try to place taller plants in the middle and smaller plants around the edges.
