Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights. Kate, 53, was on hand to host Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid, 49, and Dr Hilary, 67, and spoke about the latest developments emerging from the coronavirus pandemic. Throughout the global health crisis, the ITV presenter has been caring for her two children – Darcy and Billy – at home as her husband Derek Draper, 53, was hospitalised after being diagnosed with COVID-19. With the October half-term kicking off next week, the mother-of-two asked the medical professional how to keep her children positive as the turmoil of lockdown restrictions dawn heavily over the next few weeks. Beginning the show, Kate and Susanna were putting some questions to Dr Hilary from viewers about their own worries surrounding the pandemic. The mother-of-two then pleaded for help as she said to the medical professional: “With the looming half-term, with the desire by everyone to do the right thing, I desperately want to do the right thing. “With half-term coming up, we are trying to work out as a family what I can do for the children,” the presenter continued. She admitted because of Derek’s condition, she is more cautious to flout the rules, especially when it comes to spending time with the youngsters. “I absolutely wouldn’t condemn anybody, because it’s very difficult, managing one’s finances, worrying about keeping your children’s mental health strong.”   “I have been in a very strange place, and what they could probably do with is a little bit of fun over half term, out of the house,” Kate explained. With different regions of the country placed in alternate lockdown measures, the presenter added it was a struggle to think about travelling to keep the children entertained. Dr Hilary then offered his advice as he told his colleague: “I think people are seeking clarity, they want to know what they should be doing. “You can have all these tiers that you can’t impose easily, but the virus can only pass between human beings, from one human to another.”  The medical professional then added the mother-of-two should avoid people who are “regularly flouting the rules” to keep herself and her children safe. However, he explained there are “lots of places” she can still go to help the economy and holiday camps Darcy and Billy could go to if Kate rang them up to talk about the restrictions they’ve got in place. Speaking directly to viewers, Dr Hilary then urged them to adhere to the strictest of restrictions when they’re out and about. “What we don’t want is mass crowds protesting, abusing the police and abusing staff when they get to hospitals.\”  Unfortunately, due to restrictions imposed in hospitals as a way of stopping the spread of coronavirus, Kate’s children have not been able to visit their father. Instead, they’ve had to talk t
