Moments ago it was uploaded by the Youtuber pondmegastore, another amazing video “White Lava Taro, Pond Plants for the Bog or Shelf in the Koi Pond”.
As informed by pondmegastore: “White Lava Taro are one of our newest varieties of Taro. These plants are variable from leaf to leaf from all green with a red dot in the center to highly off white at the top with the same red splotch of lava red coming from the cennter. Perfect for a large container with heavy loam soil as we dont want pots to be able to overturn in a thunderstorm.
Taro are excellent filtration plants uptaking excess nutrients from a pond and helping clean the water. You can plant taro out of the water if kept well watered, especially for the first two week while it becomes acclimated to living without constant access to water.
There are a ton of bog filters for water gardens and koi ponds featured on Youtube of these plants. Be sure to acclimate these in a shady area of the yard like the north side of your house for 2 to 3 days before putting in direct sunlight if your koi pond or bog filter is in full sunlight. These plants prefer warm conditions. Water temperatures over 72 degrees and night times no lower than 50 degrees to stay active and growing.
